There are two kinds of people in the world: those There are two kinds of people in the world: those that answer the buzzer on the building when it rings and those that don't. What kind are you? What kind am I? The answer's on my blog! Along with other ways Covid has changed me. How's it changed you?⁣

It’s my brother’s birthday y’all!! If you kn It’s my brother’s birthday y’all!! If you know me irl you know that I have two brothers, and that at this point in their lives they look like practically the same person. Can you guess which one of them this is?⁣⁣

If you said Antosh, you’d be right! I can’t look at this picture of him without bursting out laughing. He sent it from an airport, and said 'No coronavirus formed against me shall prosper.’ 😂⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Antosh is thoughtful, trustworthy and tells you his opinions straight. He’s also incredibly hardworking - do you wake up at 4am to study things you’re interested in? - and lots of fun to be around! Basically he’s just the kind of person you’d want as a brother. I love you and I miss you Antosh! Hope you have the best day. ❤️⁣

Are you keeping track of the weeks we’ve been de Are you keeping track of the weeks we’ve been dealing with Covid? I am, and we (in Glasgow) are on week 30 of this alternate lockdown reality. Week 30!! Do you remember what you were thinking in week 4?What about week 12? Maybe you do today, but what about five years from now? ⁣
⁣
This month makes five years since Hurricane Joaquin battered the southern Bahamas. At the time, it was the worst hurricane to hit our shores in Bahamians’ living memory. Then last year Hurricane Dorian came along and wiped the memory of Joaquin clean out of our heads. Now we’re mid-pandemic. Didn’t see that coming either. ⁣
⁣
What’s my point in all this? Time keeps marching on, filled with the unexpected. If you’re not marking the important things that happen in your life, who are you leaving to do it for you? ⁣
⁣
To commemorate Hurricane Joaquin, I devoted an issue of the magazine Gumelemi to its impact. To keep track of these inside days I’m keeping a special Covid diary. Here’s my encouragement to you to document your own story. ⁣
⁣
This week on my blog - flip through the Joaquin issue of Gumelemi and read more about why it’s so important to tell your own story, especially if you’re a woman/from a small island nation/or otherwise in a minority group!
It’s fall y’all!!! 🤩🤩 I was prepared for It’s fall y’all!!! 🤩🤩 I was prepared for the spare beauty of winter and the winsomeness of spring, but not this enthralling autumn! I suppose because it doesn’t really snow here I wasn’t expecting much. I’m so happy to be mistaken! ❤️🧡💛
No words, just a full heart in my favourite park. No words, just a full heart in my favourite park. ❤️🧡💛
It's the weekend!!! Are y'all excited? Do you have It's the weekend!!! Are y'all excited? Do you have plans? I like to choose different neighbourhoods to wander around in to help me learn the city. This is something I like to do whenever I'm on a long trip or have moved to a new place. Bonus points if I can get myself lost!⁣
⁣
With so many covid restrictions lots of the other explore-a-place things I'd ordinarily be doing are off limits, so I appreciate these walks even more. I pick an area, sometimes based on an errand I have to run, and then hang around for a while, to see what I can see. That's how I stumbled on this charming lane, which I'd previously only seen in photographs. Now mine can join the catalogue. 😉⁣
⁣
What're some of the ways you get to know a new place? Or get to know your home better? I've been thinking about riding a bus all along its route, but they seem pretty short and linear here so I don't think that would actually be very much fun. Anyway, lemme know what you’ve got going on!
